Jay Winship is the Founder and Managing Partner of Pacific Point Advisors and the Pacific Point Group of Companies. He manages the firm and oversees its strategy, investment process, and client relationships. In addition to his leadership role, Jay works directly with some of the firm’s largest clients and family offices, delivering customized strategies across investment, tax, and estate planning.
With more than 30 years of experience advising sophisticated individuals, institutions, and boards, Jay leads Pacific Point’s integrated approach to managing and preserving wealth.
Before founding Pacific Point, Jay was a Principal and Investment Committee Member at Relational Investors, a leading activist investment firm with over $6 billion in assets under management. He was responsible for idea generation, stock selection, and managing core investment strategies. His public company board experience includes Bunge Global SA and C.H. Robinson Worldwide, as well as past directorships at CoreLogic and Esterline Technologies. He also serves as an advisor to the Corporate Governance Institute at San Diego State University’s Fowler College of Business.
Jay earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance, magna cum laude, from the University of Arizona and an MBA from UCLA Anderson. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
